Buckingham Palace is selling a royal Christmas tree decoration for a princely £35
With coronavirus taking over the headlines and conversation topics all year, many people are already turning to Christmas in a bid to conjure up some joy.
The royal palaces already sell gifts and souvenirs throughout the year, and have added their Christmas collections for the season to their websites.
Buckingham Palace is selling a new tree decoration this year, featuring the iconic London palace in a snow globe and costs £35.
The decoration is described as: “This exquisite snow globe decoration depicts Buckingham Palace amongst the falling snow.
“Complete with glistening threads, soft velvet, and sparkling beads, this decoration is the perfect addition to your Christmas tree.”

The site is also selling a crystal snowflake tree decoration, with each individual item costing £25.
The website describes them as: “A charming and delicately embroidered snowflake decoration, embellished with colourful, glistening threads and crystals.”
A red and gold crystal crown with the words ‘Buckingham Palace 2020’ written on the back is the same price.
The post and packing will also set customers back £4.95.
Buckingham Palace is not the only royal estate to sell Christmas gifts.

Prince Charles’s Highgrove estate also opened its Christmas shop this week, and among the decorations available from the shop are “exclusive” baubles which cost £18.95 each.
The Walther & Co collection to buy at Highgrove includes a bronze bauble and a white pine bauble.
According to Highgrove, the baubles are “passed through the hands of skilled craftsmen” at the Danish company.
While some of the company’s products are available elsewhere, the baubles appear to only be available with Highgrove.

Among other items for Christmas the site also features a Winston rocking horse, costing £5,599.99.
The rocking horse was commissioned by Prince Charles and replicates one he played on as a child.
Each horse is made to order, by a Stevenson Brothers, a family run business which has made rocking horses for more than 30 years.
Those who order rocking horses will also be sent a tree – as the website promises an “English Oak tree, Quercus robur, to plant at home”.
Royal palaces and homes had to close to visitors during the nationwide lockdown earlier this year but they have slowly been reopening for tours.
Charles is living at Highgrove but travelling for engagements as and when he needs to. The Queen is living at Windsor Castle after moving back to England after a summer break in Scotland and Sandringham.
