While delivering the federal budget on Monday, Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland said the government would extend COVID-19 benefits such as the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy and Canada Emergency Rent Subsidy until Sept. 25, 2021, amounting to an additional $12.1 billion in support.
