Part of a Buffalo Airways plane’s landing gear collapsed during a landing at the Yellowknife airport on Friday.

Earl Blacklock, a spokesperson for the N.W.T. Department of Transportation, said three crew members were on board but no one was injured in the rough landing at about 12:20 p.m.

He said the aircraft was eventually removed from the runway. One incoming and one departing flight were delayed while the runway was closed for about half an hour.

Joe McBryan of Buffalo Airways said that during landing, one side of the C46 plane landed on its wing tip when a wheel failed.

McBryan said the incident is being investigated internally, and that the plane is in a hangar with minor scrapes.
