Burnaby RCMP say they have arrested a man in relation to indecent acts that took place around the city last week.

A 38-year-old Port Coquitlam man has been charged with indecent exposure and invitation to sexual touching.

Police say they responded to Confederation Park and the Burnaby Lake area on July 8 following multiple reports of a man allegedly exposing himself to a number of people, specifically young women. He also allegedly invited some of the people to touch him sexually.

Using photos provided by the public and through CCTV cameras, the man was identified and arrested on Monday morning without incident, police say.

"This investigation involved a number of resources at the detachment including our general duty members, our community response team and Burnaby RCMP's investigative services," said Cpl. Michael Kalanj.

"These units worked diligently together to ensure this male was located, arrested and will now be held accountable for his alleged actions."
