Eganville – The draft COVID vaccination policy for Bonnechere Valley is waiting on a legal opinion which should be coming in January.
CAO Annette Gilchrist told council a draft policy was sent to the township lawyers but their response was not ready for the December meeting.
“It’s looking like our policy is not strong and we need to implement some other things as their minimum,” she noted.
If the policy needs to be amended, it might as well have the legal opinion presented in January.
She noted in her report a member of council had questioned if the policy is a legal requirement and so she reached out to the township solicitors for an opinion.
