From Town & Country

In an unexpected (though appreciated) grouping, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Céline Dion, and Outlander's Sam Heughan are set to appear together in an upcoming feature film. Tentatively titled Text For You, the romantic drama will be based on the 2016 German-language film SMS Fur Dich. While we don't have a release date yet, keep reading for everything we know so far about this much-anticipated movie.

The movie features Hollywood pros both in front of and behind the camera.

In addition to Chopra Jonas, Dion, and Heughan, Text For You will be put together by an experienced group. Director Jim Strouse will helm the film. Previously, Strouse directed a collection of indie films, including 2017's The Incredible Jessica James and 2007's Grace Is Gone, which won the Waldo Salt Screenwriting Award at Sundance and starred John Cusack. He and screenwriter Lauryn Kahn (known for her work on The Other Guys, Step Brothers, and Ibiza) are also penning the movie's screenplay.

In addition, Text For You will be produced by the team at Thunder Road, who were behind the movies A Star is Born and John Wick.

Heughan is, of course, known for his role as Jamie Fraser in Outlander. The actor also recently starred in the action comic book movie, Bloodshot with Vin Diesel. Coming up, Heughan is set to star in the action/thriller SAS: Red Notice and in the Roald Dahl biopic An Unquiet Life. As for Chopra Jonas, whom you may recognize for her work on Quantico, the actress will soon star in Netflix’s adaptation of the Man Booker Prize-winning novel The White Tiger and the fourth installment of The Matrix franchise, to be released in 2021.

Text For You's themes include romance, loss, and, yes, texting.

Based on the 2016 German movie SMS Fur Dich, which was, in turn, based on a novel by the same name, Text For You is a romantic drama focusing on many prevalent themes in the digital age. In the story, a woman who tragically lost her fiancé begins to send romantic texts to his old cell phone. On the receiving end? A man across town facing a similar heartbreak. The pair eventually connect, but have trouble escaping the ghosts of their pasts.

In this upcoming film, according to Deadline, Dion's music plays a role in uniting the couple and "[giving] them the courage to take a chance on love again."

A release date has not yet been announced.

We might be a ways off from the film's completion, but keep checking back here for more details.
