Céline Dion Sings with Sonyae Elise Backstage at the 2024 Grammys – Watch Their Duet!
Dion made a surprise appearance at Sunday's ceremony to present the album of the year award to Taylor Swift
It's not every day someone gets the chance to sing with music icon Céline Dion, but that's exactly what happened to singer-songwriter Sonyae Elise at the 2024 Grammys.
On Tuesday, the Platinum Hit winner, 26, took to Instagram to share a behind-the-scenes clip from the awards ceremony showing her singing an impromptu duet with the "Power of Love" singer, 55.
Dion showed off her incredible vocals in the video as Elise joined in beside her while Dion's stylist and friend Law Roach watched on.
"Highlights of an ICONIC night🥂 So inspired & proud of my girls," Elise captioned the montage clip, which also featured Taylor Swift, SZA and Victoria Monét.
A clip later in the video also showed Dion singing as she stood next to a smiling Stevie Wonder, who honored late music legend Tony Bennett during the ceremony.
Dion made a surprise appearance at Sunday's Grammys, held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, amid her stiff-person syndrome diagnosis.
The "My Heart Will Go On" hitmaker took the stage to present the album of the year award to Taylor Swift for Midnights, marking the fourth time Swift, 34, had won in that category.
"It was an amazing night for her. She's doing well, and the hope is that she can continue to do more and ease back in," a source told PEOPLE of Dion's public return.
Dion confirmed she'd been diagnosed with the rare neurological disorder in December 2022.
The musician was joined by her 23-year-old son René-Charles Angélil at the Grammys, but she also got to reunite with some of her fellow industry greats.
"Everybody was stopping her. She had a beautiful moment with Oprah and sang with Stevie Wonder. They were just riffing," the source added. "Victoria Monét also stopped her. Everyone was so gracious."
Dion's appearance came days after the superstar announced the upcoming release of her new documentary, I Am: Céline Dion, which set to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
Directed by Oscar-nominated documentarian Irene Taylor, the film will give fans an intimate look at Dion's life following her stiff-person syndrome diagnosis.
Dion has largely remained out of the spotlight since announcing her diagnosis, but she made a rare public appearance at a hockey game between the Vegas Golden Knights and the Montreal Canadiens in Las Vegas in October 2023.

The outing marked the Canadian icon's first public appearance in three and a half years.
Chantal Machabée, vice president of hockey communications for the Canadiens, told PEOPLE that Dion was "smiling and being so happy" at the game.
Dion even sang "a few notes," Machabée added. "It was an incredible moment. She's an amazing woman."
In May, an insider told PEOPLE that Dion was "focusing on her health" so she could perform live again after canceling her concert dates through April 2024 amid her diagnosis.
