Calgary entertainment: What to do this week

1. The Yes Men are Revolting

In an effort to bring attention to climate change and corporate greed, comedy troupe The Yes Men stage are back with a third film documenting their phoney events and elaborate hoaxes. The documentary screens at 7 p.m. Friday, April 17, at the Globe Cinema.

2. Rocky Mountain Fairy Tales

Meet the magical fairies of Canmore in this 50 minute interactive children's performance featuring storytelling, music and visual arts. Shows are at 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 18, at the Rozsa Centre at the University of Calgary.

3. Carmen

Based on a popular novella of the same name, Carmen will be presented by the Calgary Opera on April 18, April 22, April 24 and April 26.​

4. Saturday morning cartoon party

It's BYOP (bring your own pajamas) and all-you-can-eat sugar coated cereal. There will be three hours of old school "toons" starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 18. at the Globe Cinema. Tickets available through the Calgary Underground Film Festival.

5. Usually Beauty Fails

Choreographer and musician Frédérick Gravel brings his live rock band and six dancers to the stage of Theatre Junction Grand at 8 p.m. Friday, April 17, and Saturday, April 18.
