Good morning Calgary! It's clear and –6 C at 6:00 a.m. Here's what's happening in Calgary today.

Weather

Not a lot of change in the forecast today. We're expecting a sunny day and a high of 2 C. Overnight, the low will drop to –5 C.

It'll be a similar story this weekend, with sunshine in the forecast through to Sunday. We're expecting highs of 4 C on Saturday and 2 C on Sunday.

News headlines

Last night, Premier Rachel Notley took the opportunity to sell the NDP's climate change plan to Calgarians one more time before heading to Paris for an international climate change summit. Notley was the keynote speaker at an NDP fundraising event which drew 600 people. Notley says she's "looking forward to going (to Paris) and being able to talk with pride about Alberta's plan."

Farmers and ranchers who are unhappy with the province's new farm safety bill will take their message directly to the legislature today, where they will hold a protest at noon. An online petition against the legislation has attracted more than 13,000 signatures. Critics of the legislation claim that it will place an unfair burden on small, family farms.
