Calgary police charge 23 people with property-related crimes
Calgary police have charged 23 people with a long list of property-related crimes.
The charges come after a month-long operation in the northeast District 5.
Police analyzed statistics and found a spike in property crime in that area. As a result they increased patrols, and were able to make many of the arrests while the crimes were being committed.
Officers have recovered vehicles, a mountain bike, tools and assorted amounts of drugs, including heroin, marijuana and methamphetamine.
A total of 46 charges have been laid including possession of stolen property, theft and fraud.
