Calgary police seek gun seller linked to double homicide in Superstore parking lot
Detectives are trying to track down a man they believe sold a gun to the suspect accused of killing two men in a southeast Calgary parking lot earlier this year.
Anees Amr, 26, and Colin Reitberger, 23, were shot to death in the Superstore parking lot at 130th Avenue and 48th Street S.E. on May 21.
It's believed Reitberger was the target and that Amr was an unintended victim who had no criminal ties.
In June, Christian Joffre Ouellette, 20, was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder.
Police believe a man who goes by the name Tyson sold the murder weapon to Ouellette a few days prior to the killings.
"Attempts have been made by detectives in the homicide unit to contact Tyson, but he has been unco-operative," police said in a release Thursday.
Detectives think at least one other person was involved in the gun deal.
Police are also still looking for the driver of a red 2004 to 2006 Dodge Durango SLT, which dropped off Ouellette at a gas station following the shootings.
It is believed Ouellette then took a taxi to Nose Hill Park, where he spoke to an unknown white man who had a goatee. Police are still trying to identify and locate this person.
