Calgary police seeking suspects in jewelry heist that saw Sunridge Mall evacuated

Calgary police have released images of two men alleged to have been involved in a Saturday jewelry store robbery at Sunridge Mall.

The mall was evacuated Saturday afternoon after pepper spray from the robbery spread through the mall's ventilation system.

According to police, two men allegedly entered the mall at approximately 1:30 p.m. and proceeded to Paris Jewellers, where they deployed tear gas and pepper spray and stole several items of jewellery, threatening staff with firearms.

The men then fled in a brown and gold SUV. As a result of the robbery, gas spread through the mall's ventilation system, and multiple shoppers suffered effects from tear gas and pepper spray.
