Calgary's changing city captured in Lougheed House photo exhibit

A new photography exhibit called "Your Town is Our Town" opens Friday and runs until June 14 at the historic Lougheed House.

The show, curated by journalist and creator of Swerve Magazine, Shelley Youngblut, features 20 Calgary landmarks through the eyes of local editorial photographers.

"It's an interesting sense of a city that is changing everyday. So there's certain streetscapes that you're going to see, that are not going to be there when you go and try try to find them yourself. They were caught in a moment in time," says Youngblut.

All the photographs in the exhibit were published at one time or another over the last decade in the "Our Town" feature on the back page of Swerve.

"It was probably the most popular page in the magazine," said Youngblut.

"So the idea was let's look at all of these images together, as opposed to individually," she said.
