Canada election: Trudeau says O’Toole ‘doesn’t understand’ Quebec’s daycare system

During a spirited debate over the $6-billion Quebec child-care deal, Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau said Conservative Leader Erin O’Toole “doesn’t understand” the universal daycare system in Quebec. O’Toole said he would collaborate with the Legault government on its plan for child-care, but Bloc Québécois Leader Yves-François Blanchet criticized both approaches, saying Quebec doesn’t need “any interference or any conditions from the federal government.”
