Canada 'leading in the pack’ on single-use plastics ban, talks export ban: Minister Guilbeault

Environment Minister Steven Guilbeault said Monday that while he recognizes some countries announced bans of certain types of plastics, he considered Canada still "leading in the pack." He said, "I don't think we can ban our way out of plastic pollution," however regulation is part of the solution. Guilbeault also spoke about a ban on exports of certain plastics by the end of 2025, which was an add to the ban, he said it became clear based on science and evidence it needed to be added.
