Canadian government looking into ‘troubling allegations’ regarding Iraqi security forces

MP James Bezan on Thursday asked Anita Vandenbeld, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of National Defence, why Canada’s military mission in Iraq, called Operation Impact, was extended following allegations against Iraqi soldiers being trained by Canadian Armed Forces members. Vandenbeld replied that the Canadian Armed Forces is no longer operating with Iraqi security forces related to the allegations and are “actively looking into these troubling allegations.”
