Feeling like there's a binge-worthy, TV-thriller-shaped hole in your life? Same. Thankfully, we reckon Netflix's new drama Behind Her Eyes has our backs. The six-part psychological drama is landing on the streaming platform on February 17th and We. Are. Ready. For. It. Step this way for all the details…

What's Netflix's Behind Her Eyes about?

The show centres around Louise, a single mother who takes a part-time job in a psychiatrist's office and starts having an affair with her new boss, David. Things take a darker turn when, separately, she also strikes up a friendship with David's wife, Adele. Anyone thinking that's likely to work out well?

The series is adapted by Netflix and the producers of The Crown, from Sarah Pinborough's best-selling 2017 novel. The book delivers multiple plot twists and a major WTF ending, so we're expecting the series to be lighting up our group chat in a big way.

Netflix says, "Since her husband walked out, Louise has made her son her world, supporting them both with her part-time job in a psychiatrist’s office. Her world is thrown off kilter when she begins an affair with her new boss David and matters take an even stranger turn when she’s drawn into an unlikely friendship with his wife Adele.

"What starts as an unconventional love triangle soon becomes a dark, psychological tale of suspense and twisted revelations, as Louise finds herself caught in a dangerous web of secrets where nothing and no one is what they seem."

Secrets? Suspense? Revelations? We are very much here for it.

Here's what else we know…

Who's in the Behind Her Eyes cast?

Louise is played by Simona Brown, who starred in Channel 4 cyber-drama Kiss Me First (currently available on Netflix, if you need to fill a gap while you wait for this one to arrive), plus the BBC's The Little Drummer Girl with Florence Pugh.

Tom Bateman plays David. He's recently been seen giving good period drama in TV's Beecham House and Vanity Fair. In major power-couple news, he's been dating Star Wars' Daisy Ridley since 2017 – the pair met while they were filming the Poirot movie Murder On The Orient Express.

Rounding off the love triangle is Eve Hewson as Adele – she played Maid Marian in the 2018 movie Robin Hood, opposite old Rocket Man himself, Taron Egerton, and appeared in the BBC's Sunday-night drama The Luminaries earlier this year. Meanwhile, Adele's old friend Robert is played by Game of Thrones and Nocturnal Animals star Robert Aramayo.

When did Netflix announce Behind Her Eyes?

This one's been in the pipeline for a while – with Netflix first announcing details of the show in early 2019, and pictures emerging in late 2019 following filming in London and Scotland. With release dates thrown up in the air thanks to the pandemic, it's no surprise we've had a bit of a wait, but we're pretty sure this one's going to be worth it.

When can we watch Behind Her Eyes?

Behind Her Eyes will premiere on Netflix on February 17th, but in the meantime you can catch a first look at the six-part series in the chilling trailer above. Last year, when novelist Sarah Pinborough said on Twitter that it's scheduled for the "first quarter" of 2021, she also admitted it "blew me away". So, yeah, we will absolutely be blocking out a whole weekend to binge watch it.
