Back on April 25, Cannon School hosted reigning NCISAA state softball champion Charlotte Christian and lost 10-4.

From the looks of things, the Cougars learned a lot from it.

Cannon won its final eight games of the season and beat Charlotte Christian 3-1 Saturday to win Game 2 of the best-of-3 state championship series between the schools.

Cannon belted three home runs in a 10-4 win Friday night.

Christian was trying to win its third straight state championship.
