Terrence Schneider is the new ‘hands on the reins’ in the office of the Chief Administrator for the Town of Wakaw and the RM of Fish Creek. Long time CAO Lois Gartner is taking her accumulated holiday time, while also giving Terrence assistance with stepping into the position Lois held approximately twenty years. Lois’s final days in the office will wrap up at the end of February.

Terrence is a product of Cabri, Saskatchewan and attended the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon. He then spent 15 years in Alberta working as a Town Administrator for a couple of different towns. Then Saskatchewan called and Terrence and his family moved back to the province where he was employed for nine years by Parks Canada as the Townsite Manager at Waskesiu. Following that was a term with the RM of Prince Albert No. 406. He was most recently employed by the City of Yorkton as their Bylaw and Safety Supervisor.

Terrence is married and he and his wife Sonia have three grown children. The couples two sons Calvin and Kyle, live and work in Prince Albert, while their daughter Kendall is attending her 4thyear at the University of Regina. Sonia will be joining Terrence here in Wakaw as soon as they are able to complete the transition from Yorkton to Wakaw. Terrence says that he has been welcomed to the Town of Wakaw and the RM of Fish Creek by the Councils of both municipal governments, the staff in the office and some residents of both communities whom he has been fortunate enough to meet already, and he feels very much at home here.

“I look forward to working for and with everyone who requires assistance from the joint municipal offices. Thank you for allowing me to become part of your community and let’s hope 0221 and forward will be a year where we can put COVID-19 behind us all.

In the meantime, stay safe and help others stay safe by following provincial health guidelines.” ~Terrence Schneider, CAO Town of Wakaw/RM of Fish Creek.
