Woman critically hurt after car pinned by semi

A 61-year-old woman remains in critical condition in a Winnipeg hospital after her car was pinned under a semi-trailer on Wednesday morning.

City police say the collision took place at around 8:45 a.m. CT in the 200 block of Panet Road, near Fournier Street.

In a release Wednesday afternoon, police said it appears the woman was driving the Saturn L300 northbound on Panet Road when the collision took place with the semi, which was being operated by a 39-year-old man.

A police spokesman had earlier told reporters the car was parked on the side of the street.

The crash is under investigation.

Panet between Dugald Road and Warman Road was closed for several hours Wednesday morning while the collision was under investigation.
