Cardi B Sets the Record Straight on Her Divorce From Offset: ‘It’s Not Because of Cheating'

Cardi B, who recently filed for divorce from husband Offset after three years of marriage, appeared on Instagram Live Friday, September 18, to explain exactly what led to her decision.

After thanking her fans and letting them know she has “not shed one tear” over the split, the “WAP” artist took control of her narrative following reports that cheating was involved. (Note: The couple also broke up in 2018 but reconciled a few months later.)

“Every single time that this guy has been so crazy, so fed up and it hits the media, I’m always crying, always sad because I don’t like that type of shit,” Cardi said, according to Page Six. “This time, I wasn’t crying. You want to know why? The reason for my divorce is not because of none of that shit that ever happened before. It’s not because of cheating. "

Cardi also debunked a rumor going around that Offset got another woman pregnant. “I’m seeing people be like, ‘Oh, he has a baby on the way.’ That’s a whole fucking complete lie,” she said. "That’s the second time people are trying to pin babies over here. No, that’s bullshit.”

Cardi B went on to explain the real reason why she ended her relationship with the Migos rapper, with whom she shares 2-year-old daughter Kulture Kiari, for good.

“I just got tired of fuckinging arguing,” she explained. “I got tired of not seeing things eye-to-eye. When you feel like it’s just not the same anymore, before you actually get cheated on, I’d rather just leave. Nothing crazy out of this world happened, sometimes people really do grow apart."

"I been with this man for four years,” Cardi continued. "I have a kid with this man, I have a household with this man… sometimes you’re just tired of the arguments and the build up. You get tired sometimes and before something bad happens, you leave."

"I want to say thank you to everybody they've been showing me love," she added. "I'm great. I'm okay. I'm not down. I'm not devastated. I'm not hurt."
