Carers Accused Of Having Sex Outside McDonald’s - With Disabled Charge In Car

Two carers are accused of having sex in a McDonald’s car park - within inches of the blind disabled teenager they were looking after.

Nikki Hollingworth, 26, and Daniel German, 32, are accused of doing the deed outside the fast food chain in Thurmaston, Leicestershire, while their charge sat in the back of the car in her wheelchair.

Leicester Crown Court heard that the girl was blind and unable to communicate verbally.

“Shocked” customer Kasia Stepien was heading to her car with her meal when she spotted German with his trousers down to his knees, pressed against Hollingworth.

She told the court: “I saw a lady laying against the vehicle with a man against her.

"His belt was undone and her leg was up, at least one leg was up. To me it was clear they were having sex, actually having intercourse.

"I could see part of his thigh. His trousers would have been to his knees with his belt hanging down. I heard laughing as I drove by.”

Prosecutor Francis Lloyd added: “Initially Miss Stepien thought they were having a cuddle but when she drove past saw they were having sexual intercourse.

"There’s a time and a place for everything and we would say that the car park of McDonald’s isn’t it.

"It’s acting in an indecent manner in a public place.”

The court heard that Miss Stepien parked nearby, then phoned the restaurant and reported what she had seen in the car park to duty manager Shannon Harrington.

By the time Miss Harrington came out to help investigate, the couple had got into the vehicle.

Miss Stepien added: “We both looked over to the car and I could see female legs through the window, moving rhythmically.”

Miss Harrington told the jury it was dark at the time but the car park was well lit when she went outside to investigate.

She said she saw the couple inside the blue people carrier “on the middle seats”.

Miss Harrington added: “She (the female) was on her back with her legs around him and he was over her.

"His trousers were half way down his bum and I could see his boxers.

"Her legs were moving, I assume they were having sex.

"I knocked on the window and they both jumped up and I could see a disabled child sitting in a wheelchair at the back of the vehicle.

"His trousers were undone but I couldn’t see anything. I did not see any genitals.

"I informed him that I’d had a phone call from a member of the public saying they were having sex in the car park, but he denied it and said he wasn’t.”

German and Hollingworth, who are both employed by Pathway Care Solutions, had just collected the girl from school.

The pair both deny outraging public decency by committing an act of a lewd, obscene and disgusting nature at about 4.30pm on January 22 this year.

A matter of opinion: The carers are adamant that they were simply having a “big hug” (SWNS)

But the court heard the carers are not charged in connection with the disabled girl being in the vehicle when the alleged offence happened.

Dominic Bell, defending German, suggested Miss Stepien was mistaken and the pair had been “hugging”.

But she replied: “I don’t think many people hug with their trousers down.”

German, of Nottingham, gave a no comment police interview but denied any wrongdoing with his co-worker in a prepared statement and said he would never have sex in front of a patient.

He added: “We had a bit of a hug because we had an argument, it was a make-up hug.”

Hollingworth, of Nottingham, told the police she had a partner and was not in a relationship with German.

She claimed she had been to the McDonald’s to get a burger and German had given her a “big hug” in the car park to make up for an earlier disagreement.

Hollingworth also said she was adjusting the middle seats inside the car and bent over after dropping a cigarette lighter by the side of the front seat.

The trial continues.
