Cat saved from fire that left two people homeless in Stittsville

Two people are homeless after a bungalow fire in Stittsville Monday morning, but fire crews were able to save their cat from inside.

Ottawa fire officials said they were called to the detached bungalow on Pretty Street in west Ottawa just after 4:45 a.m.

When they arrived, they said the two people living there were out and flames were visible from the outside.

Firefighters had the fire under control by 5:30 a.m. and also rescued a cat the residents couldn’t get out.

There is no damage estimate yet but fire officials said in a news release that the two people living there will be displaced.

There were no injuries.
