Catch the Wave: Car wash company eyes multiple sites on busy Lexington County roadways
Get ready to catch the wave in Lexington County.
Tidal Wave Auto Spa, a car wash company that has locations across a number of states, has its eyes on a couple of sites along busy roads in Lexington County.
The company has a “coming soon” sign posted at what will be the Platt Springs Crossing development near Red Bank at the intersection of Platt Springs Road and Old Orangeburg Road. Documents in the Lexington County Planning Commission’s September agenda indicate the car wash is under development at that site.
The Platt Springs Crossing project encompasses nearly 60 acres in the Red Bank area. The project was announced earlier this year. It ultimately will include a host of commercial businesses, as well as a residential component, developers have said. At least one of the other commercial elements is known: A Whataburger restaurant is being developed at the site.
Meanwhile, there is also a Tidal Wave Auto Spa “coming soon” sign in the 2300 block of Augusta Highway in Lexington. That’s near a 7-Eleven store and the intersection of Augusta Highway and Charter Oak Road, just east of Lexington High School.
Tidal Wave Auto Spa has car washes in a number of states, including South Carolina. It has existing sites in the Midlands near the Killian Crossing development and on Forum Drive in northeast Columbia, and on West Dekalb Street in Camden.
