CBC Montreal's Duke Eatmon recognized at Dynastie Gala

CBC Montreal radio columnist Duke Eatmon took home the award for Anglophone radio personality of the year at the first-ever Montreal Dynastie Gala, held at the Olympia theatre Sunday night.

The event marks the end of Black History Month celebrations, and highlighted prominent members of the community in sectors such as media, sports, business and arts.

In total, seven CBC Montreal personalities earned nominations in the radio and television categories.

Eatmon is the regular music columnist on CBC Montreal's afternoon radio show, Homerun.

Along with Eatmon, nominees in the category included Daybreak's Shari Okeke and Jennifer Allen, along with Cinq-a-Six host Nantali Indongo and political commentator Yolande James.

In the category of Anglophone T.V. personality of the year, CBC Montreal reporters Sean Henry and Antoni Nerestant were nominated.

Other awards given to Juno-winner, Olympian

Other winners include Juno Award-winning singer Karim Ouellet, and Olympic bronze medalist Jennifer Abel.

Ouellet won for Francophone artist of the year while Abel took home the sports personality of the year.
