CBCMusic.ca Festival 2015: How to get a front row seat

CBC's Shad to replace Action Bronson at NXNE

Some of Canada's best musical artists and rising stars are kicking off the summer festival season Saturday, taking to the stage at the CBCMusic.ca Festival at Toronto's Echo Beach.

But just because you're not in the Big Smoke this weekend doesn't mean you'll have to miss it.

There are numerous ways you can take in the concert billed as Canada's Music Festival.

Music lovers can tune in to live broadcasts on CBC Radio One and CBC Radio 2, or watch the show on CBC Music's livestream starting at 3:40 ET.

The festival will broadcast live to air on CBC Radio One starting at 9 p.m. (10 AT, 10:30 NT) and re-broadcast on Radio 2 starting at 10 p.m. (11 AT and 11:30 NT).

CBC-TV will also air a one-hour special of the festival at a later date.

'Proud' to be a part

Critically acclaimed rapper Shad, and host of CBC Radio's q, is one the bill at the festival which features an all-Canadian lineup.

Béatrice Martin, the award-winning singer-songwriter and pianist best known by her stage name, Coeur de Pirate, says she's "proud" to be a part of it.

"It is very Canadian," she told CBC News with a laugh. "I get to play with bands that usually only tour in Ontario or rarely come to Quebec or come to Montreal to perform."

Fans will also get to see Coeur de Pirate perform with one of her heroes, Montreal singer-songwriter Patrick Watson.
