CBS nixes a partial Friends reunion by axing Odd Couple
Friends fans hoping to see Matthew Perry and Matt LeBlanc reunite in a CBS crossover are out of luck.
CBS mercilessly dropped the axe on Perry's latest TV sitcom The Odd Couple after three seasons on Monday (May 15), according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The writing was on the wall for The Odd Couple last month when Matthew Perry discovered he was being literally erased from CBS's promotion for the fall season.

"My face on the Odd Couple stage door has been painted over with green paint," the actor tweeted in April. "I think it's safe to assume that we have been cancelled. #subtle"
A renewal for the latest TV adaptation of the classic '60s series has come down to the wire over the last two seasons. This year, it seems time for The Odd Couple simply ran out.
CBS's decision to drop Perry's sitcom effectively ends any chance of a primetime reunion for the actor and his former Friends co-star Matt LeBlanc, who stars on the network's recently-renewed Man with a Plan.
Even though LeBlanc had previously denied that any such crossover was in the works, the actor seemed hopeful that the excitement of seeing Joey and Chandler on screen together again would eventually win over CBS.
There's still hope for the two to reunite on LeBlanc's other series Top Gear, right? Right?!
The Odd Couple is unfortunately the latest in a string of short-lived network sitcoms for Matthew Perry. Mr. Sunshine lasted less than a season at ABC, as did NBC's Go On in 2013.
