  • Channing Tatum is "happy" for ex wife Jenna Dewan following her engagement to Steve Kazee.

  • The couple were married for nine years before calling it quits in April 2018.

It's never easy seeing an ex move on to a new relationship, but it appears Channing Tatum is pretty chill over Jenna Dewan's engagement to Steve Kazee. In fact, he couldn't be happier!

Jenna, 39, and 44-year-old Steve, who began dating months after her split from the Magic Mike star, announced the happy news on Instagram earlier this week.

And despite staying silent on social media, a source revealed to E! just how Channing, 39, really feels.

"Channing is very happy for Jenna and Steve's engagement," the source said. "Channing has expressed that he is happy Jenna is in a good place and has moved on."

The former couple met on the set of Step Up in 2006, and welcomed six-year-old daughter Everly in 2013.

"Jenna has a special place in [Channing's] heart since she is the mother of their child, but they have both moved on and are happy in their new relationships," the source added. "Channing's main priority and concern is his daughter, and him and Jenna are both happy to have worked out a co-parenting agreement."

Dewan and Tatum finalised their divorce last November, with the actress already expecting her first child with Steve this year.

In an extract from her memoir, Gracefully You: How to Live Your Best Life Every Day, Jenna revealed how the dynamic between her and Channing was no longer benefitting their daughter before their split.

"I’d come to realise the dynamic I was in wasn’t serving me nor was it serving my daughter," she wrote. "First and foremost, I had to accept the realisation this isn’t working and had moved into hurting."

The actress then went on to explain how she worked through the pain with, er, herbal tea. "One of the many ways I holistically coped with my heartbreak and stress was with holy basil....One thing I wasn’t about to do during my heartbreak was abandon the things that make me feel good, which includes maintaining a clean, delicious diet."

And it isn't all bad for Channing, who has since moved with singer Jessie J. Maybe things just aren't meant to be...
