Charges filed against man accused of killing one inside Lee’s Summit home
A Kansas City man was charged Saturday with second-degree murder in connection to a fatal shooting inside a Lee’s Summit residence Friday morning.
Keith Marshall, 31, also faces two counts of armed criminal action charges, burglary in the first degree and unlawful use of a weapon.
The Lee’s Summit Police Department responded to the 2100 block of SW Rutherford Drive around 8 a.m. Friday on reports of a shooting, according to spokesperson Sgt. Chris Depue.
Responding officers discovered 51-year-old Craig L Scott inside the home with a gunshot wound. Scott was pronounced dead on the scene, Depue said. A suspect in the shooting fled the home before police arrived, Depue said, but surrendered himself to police custody several hours later.
Marshall is in custody on a $250,000 bond.
