Charges laid after man found dead in Vancouver condo

Second-degree murder charges have been laid after a man was found dead in a Vancouver condo on Saturday.

Sofien Kazdaghli, 39, was found in the apartment at 438 Seymour Street shortly after 8 a.m.

On Sunday, Diego Alphonso Huerta was arrested and has since been charged with second-degree murder in the case.

The 21-year-old was apprehended just as he was boarding a Greyhound bus "out of the city," said police.

Const. Jason Doucette said Huerta and Kazdaghli both lived in the Seymour Street condo building.

Anyone with information about the death is asked to call the Vancouver Police Department's Major Crime Unit at 604 717-2500 or Crimestoppers to remain anonymous.
