Charges laid after Regina police track down stolen vehicle suspected in hit and run

Regina police have charged a man with a number of offences after tracking down a stolen vehicle believed to be involved in a hit and run Sunday morning.

Police were called to a business on the 1000 block of Pasqua Street at 5:54 a.m. CST for a report of a vehicle that had hit a parked car there and left the scene.

When police arrived, they discovered the suspected vehicle in the hit and run incident was stolen.

Police located the stolen vehicle at 7th Avenue and Cameron Street. Police attempted to stop the car, but it continued on to 6th Avenue until the car hit a barricade and a parked vehicle.

The two occupants of the vehicle fled on foot and were ultimately arrested.

One was a young person, who was released with no charges.

Multiple charges were laid against the other, a man. The charges include driving while impaired, failing to stop at the scene of an accident, and fleeing while being pursued by an officer.

The Regina Police Service say that this matter is still under investigation, and the suspect will appear in court Oct. 24.
