Streetwear label thisisneverthat is once again continuing its fruitful relationship with New Balance, following on from takeovers of the 860v2, 1906 and 2002R silhouettes. Now, the South Korea-based brand is turning its hand to the coveted New Balance 550 silhouette, presenting three bold colorways, each drawing inspiration from skateboarding and hiking shoes from the '90s.
Initially, the collaboration teased a canvas-based 550 drenched in dark brown, paired with glossy brown finishes on its lace loops alongside solid black accents, cracked leather "N" logos and "thisisneverthat" branding embroidered into the shoe's heels. The first sneaker also featured branding on its tongue banners.
Not long after, the brand previewed another look at its collaboration, this time teasing a trio of vibrant colorways. Now, the collection features Lavender and Green colorways alongside the initial Brown hue, alongside a graphic print T-shirt which features imagery of the shoes themselves.
Take a closer look at the thisisneverthat x New Balance 550 collection above, slated for release in the US on August 23, followed by Europe and China on August 24.
