Check out star NFL running back’s Las Vegas sanctuary 15 minutes from The Strip. How much?
NFL running back Josh Jacobs left the Raiders after signing a contract with the Green Bay Packers earlier this year, and now he is parting with his custom-designed “dream home,” a 5,300-square-foot Las Vegas residence surrounded by tall privacy hedges, for $6 million.
Jacobs had a notable career with the Las Vegas Raiders, where he established himself as one of the top running backs in the NFL during his five seasons with the team. He racked up 5,545 rushing yards, averaging 4.2 yards per carry.
James Meadows of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Nevada Properties is the listing agent.
“Jacobs’ journey and his achievements are incredibly moving,” Meadows said in a news release. “ his isn’t just a home; it’s a symbol of his hard work and dreams coming true. It’s truly rewarding to help someone find their sanctuary, their private space. Whether it’s a superstar athlete or a veteran who never thought homeownership was possible, the joy is the same.”
In college, Jacobs was a star running for Alabama. He was drafted in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft by the Raiders.
The house hit the market Friday, ahead of Sunday’s NFL action.
After buying the land for $750,000 in 2021, according to public property records, Jacobs meticulously designed the single-story estate to be his ultimate dream home, Meadows said. It showcases an expansive courtyard entrance, floor-to-ceiling windows, a wine wall enclosed in glass and a backyard with a half basketball court and a lap pool.
Designed for entertainment, the backyard also holds a covered patio with a grill and an oversized grass area. The lap pool has an integrated spa. The property, 1 Olympia Canyon Way, overlooks undeveloped land with scenic views of the surrounding mountains.
“Escape to your secluded oasis in Las Vegas,” the property listing states. “This newly completed luxury estate offers unmatched privacy and a resort-style living experience. “
The community, located in Augusta Canyon at Southern Highlands Golf Club, provides amenities, such as seven parks with walking trails, a fitness center, a private golf course, spa services and lap and children’s pools.
“I would call this the neighborhood of champions,” James said. “It’s a hotspot for Raiders staff and players. Derek Carr lives here during the offseason, and even former Raiser’s head coach Jon Gruden lived here. Plus, you can’t beat the location — just a quick 15-minute drive to the Las Vegas Strip, and perfectly situated between their practice facility and the stadium.”
The house may find its way into another Raiders hands. It’s just four minutes from the team’s practice facility.
The 26-year-old Jacobs signed a four-year contract with the Pacers for $48 million.
