Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount says he is “buzzing” to team-up with “world-class” winger Hakim Ziyech next season.

The Blues agreed a deal to sign Ziyech from Dutch champions Ajax in February, with the 27-year-old due to complete his move when the transfer window opens on July 1.

That may yet be delayed, if as is expected the coronavirus outbreak leads to the current season running into the summer, but the Moroccan looks set to be a key part of Frank Lampard’s side whenever the new campaign does get underway.

And having faced Ziyech’s Ajax side while on loan in the Eredivisie at Vitesse Arnhem, Mount can’t wait to get going.

“So two years ago I was in Holland on loan so I knew a bit about him then and obviously how good of a player he is,” Mount explained during a charity Fifa tournament.

“So obviously it’s another amazing, world-class player joining the club. So yeah buzzing to work with him, train with him and hopefully play with him.”
