During her 26 seasons competing on Dancing with the StarsCheryl Burke has partnered with seemingly every kind of person. And while she won’t rank her partners, she certainly seems to have a favorite.

When asked to describe the “perfect dance partner,” Burke told PEOPLE exclusively at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas on Saturday, “I would love someone who's just a good person."

"Actually, like a Jack Osborne," she continued of her season 17 partner, whom she ranked in third place with. "He was a great guy."

"Maybe he can dance, maybe he can't, but because he's a good person, that makes me want to teach you," added Burke.

For the retired pro, being able to dance well is actually one of the least important traits needed.

“Really it's all about what’s behind the dance shoes, behind the dance costume,” she explained. “If you can dance and you're mean, I prefer not to be your partner."

"I've had all of them. I've had all of them," Burke added.

Burke left the show last year, but she continues to keep an eye on it.

Earlier this week, upcoming contestant Matt Walsh put a “pause” on his DWTS participation amid the Writers Guild of America (WGA) and SAG-AFTRA strikes.

“I think it's personal,” Burke told PEOPLE of the contestant’s decisions to compete. “I think they're still moving on with the show, from what I heard. Things may change literally in an hour from now, but I trust them that they're [making] the best decision for whatever's best for the show."
