Chicago PD brings in New Amsterdam star for season 12
New Amsterdam star Toya Turner has joined the upcoming season of Chicago PD.
No stranger to the emergency services, Turner played the recurring role of nurse Gabrielle on New Amsterdam. She is now set to become a series regular on Chicago PD's twelfth season.
According to TVLine, the actor will play patrol officer Kiana Cook. Kiana loves the exciting high stakes of her job, and knows how to keep her cool in hectic situations.

Fans of the One Chicago franchise might recognise Turner from her guest roles on Chicago Med and Chicago Fire, where she played different characters. She has also appeared on popular series such as Grey's Anatomy, The Mick, Easy and Empire.
All three One Chicago shows have recently undergone big cast shake ups, with new arrivals and departures.
Chicago PD bid farewell to Detective Hailey Upton Halstead (played by Tracy Spiridakos) during its season 11 finale. The star left the show after seven seasons in the role.

Meanwhile, Dermot Mulroney is set to become Chicago Fire's new chief in season 13. Mulroney will play Chief Dom Pascal, taking over from Chief Wallace Boden (played by Eammon Walker). Walker exited his role in the season 12 finale, after starring in the show since its 2012 premiere.
Derrick Gibson (played by Rome Flynn) and Sylvie Brett (played by Kara Killmer) also left during season 12.
Chicago Med lost a major cast member when it was announced that Dominic Rains would not be returning to his role as Dr Crockett Marcel. However, original cast members S. Epatha Merkerson, Oliver Platt and Marlyne Barrett have all been confirmed for a return in season 10.
Chicago Fire, Chicago PD and Chicago Med air on NBC and Peacock in the US, and on Sky Witness in the UK.
