Chiefs fans sound off after KC loses to the Broncos for first time since 2015 season
To be fair, it’s tough to defeat a team 17 times in a row.
The Chiefs have dominated their all-time series with the Broncos and took a 16-game winning streak into Sunday’s game against the Broncos at Empower Field at Mile High in Denver.
But everything that could go wrong did for the Chiefs in a 24-9 loss to Denver.
Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was battling the flu and didn’t look like his usual self. The Chiefs turned the ball over five times and continued to have troubles in the red zone.
It was an all-around terrible afternoon in the Mile High City. Chiefs fans were shared their thoughts on the game on X (formerly Twitter), Facebook and Reddit. Here is what they were saying.
I'll tell you right now, the #Chiefs had better come out more focused than we've ever seen them before next week against Miami.
There's no excuse for how sloppy this has been. #ChiefsKingdom— CitadelChief (@citadelchief) October 29, 2023
Absolute horrible play by the Chiefs today. It is clear that Watson is the most reliable receiver currently, Mecole may not be what we hoped for, Kelce is still Kelce, and Mahomes is struggling playing sick. Sneed had sticky hands.

I just feel like the Chiefs are going to have to go get a receiver in the deadline. They can’t continue like this. #ChiefsKingdom

A fan on Reddit wrote: “as usual, only team that can beat the chiefs is the chiefs.”
Another shared this: “Coaching staff is not taking this game seriously at all. Weirdly conservative playcalling. Garbage short yardage decision making. Doesn’t really look like anybody on the KC sidelines cares that we might lose this. Frustrating.”
We have enough. Cannot turn the ball over 4 times. Cannot fail to execute simple plays. We played with our food with Denver one too many times. #ChiefsKingdom

The only thing that can ruin having the best QB in the world is guys who can’t get open or catch the ball. Both Chiefs losses have seen that be the theme. Veach must address this before Tuesday. Whatever it takes. Draft picks mean nothing #ChiefsKingdom

Terrible, so bad today! #ChiefsKingdom pic.twitter.com/RT8gpSph5B

This is the worst the chiefs offense has looked in the Mahomes era. It’s not even his fault. How can he do anything if his receivers can’t get open and when they do, they drop/fumble it. Rashee Rice better have a 100% snap percentage next week.

On Reddit, a fan wrote: “It seems we’re dead set on making the worst decisions possible in every play, which means we are destined to lose today…”
The donkeys came to play today..... #NFL #ChiefsKingdom about Time, we'll be back
