Two children fell from windows in Brampton on Tuesday and one remains in life-threatening condition, Peel police say.

Both children are under the age of 10.

The first incident happened at a residence in the area of Pickard Lane and Banting Crescent. Police were called to the scene at about 11:30 a.m.

Peel paramedics took the child in life-threatening condition to a trauma centre.

Police said they have determined that the incident was an accident and they have left the scene.

The second incident happened at a residence in the area of Fanshawe Drive and Somerset Drive. Police were called to the scene shortly after 2 p.m.

In that incident, Peel paramedics took the child to Toronto's Hospital for Sick Children. The child remains in non-life-threatening condition.

Const. Heather Cannon, spokesperson for Peel Regional Police, said officers are trying to determine what exactly happened in the first incident.
