Chilling photos seen for the first time reveal how Moors Murdered Ian Brady spied on would-be victims

Chilling photos taken by Moors Murderer Ian Brady reveal how the serial killer spied on schoolchildren as he planned his crimes.

The never-seen-before pictures include images taken by Brady, who died last week aged 79, of children playing at Ryder Brow Secondary Modern – the school Myra Hindley attended.

Taken through the window of Brady’s van, they show pupils taking part in what appears to be a PE lesson.

Another image, taken through the black metal bars of the school fence, shows older boys playing a football match.

The photos, believed to have been taken by keen photographer Brady as he and Hindley searched for their would-be victims on the streets near their home, have emerged after the death of the notorious killer.

The images, revealed to the public for the first time, includes a picture of Brady posing at home, as well as a picture of his mother Peggy Stewart at the home they shared, plus other images believed to have been taken as Brady practised his photography skills.

The sinister collection, which featured pornographic photos of Brady and Hindley, was seized by police after the couple’s arrest in 1965.

The couple, who tortured and murdered five children in the 1960s, planned their abductions and killings in meticulous detail before Brady documented them with photos.

He developed the images using darkroom equipment he had in the upstairs bathroom of his home on Westmoreland Street in Longsight, Greater Manchester.

Photos including shots of the pair’s victims and the graves they buried them in on Saddleworth Moor were later used as evidence by prosecutors.
