Chris Cuomo slams Trump’s 'epic hypocrisy' for changing his views on election year SCOTUS appointments
Chris Cuomo called out the “epic hypocrisy” by President Trump and senate Republicans for their complete reversal of their position in 2016. Following the death of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg Friday night, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell almost immediately announced that the senate would hold a vote on a nominee to fill the vacancy. This comes less than a month and a half before the election. In 2016, following the death of Justice Antonin Scalia in February, Republicans said it was too close to an election and the next President should make the appointment and they blocked President Obama’s pick. Trump agreed with that sentiment and even said as much to Cuomo in an interview from March 2016. Cuomo played a clip from that interview, putting the hypocrisy on full display.
