And just like that we are down to six amazing women! After a truly shocking and difficult week in the Bahamas, we are off to Warsaw, Indiana to visit Ben’s hometown. It’s been a wild rollercoaster, but now Ben and the women are going to get a sense of what life would be like if they really married Ben. That means family, small-town life, and America’s heartland.

But before we get to all that, let’s talk to this week. Upon arriving at Great Exuma in the Bahamas, we went right to the Grand Isle Resort and took a nice long walk on the beautiful white sand beach — but soon after, Hurricane Drama descended upon us.

Ben made a bold choice by deciding to take Caila on a second one-on-one date. There are no rules when you’re the Bachelor, and sometimes you just have to go with your gut. His date with Caila the first week was his first date of the season, and I feel like maybe he was starting to really want to work through some of his more prominent relationships before figuring out the ones that had been taking a back seat for a while. Leah had always been very easy for him to be around, but she never really made too huge an impression. For that reason, I understood that Ben felt it more pressing to deal with his feelings for Caila, and it’s pretty clear that he was right.

As Leah was home lamenting, understandably, Caila was really having an emotional breakthrough. At first glance, some of what she had to say may have seemed confusing, but Caila is really a complicated woman and for her to feel understood in that way is something she really needs. I think she feels that Ben really understands her and that’s why those feelings of love are creeping in. Everyone is different and every relationship is different, and Ben and Caila’s relationship in particular is taking on a much more dynamic turn. We can all look forward to seeing where that goes next week.

The group date card that night revealed that Olivia and Emily would be on the dreaded 2-on-1 date. This date has become more and more dramatic every single year. To be honest, I think everyone could tell this is the kind of thing that would happen. After the conversation from last week, Ben really wanted to get a glimpse of Olivia in a group setting.

The group date was an unbelievable activity. Swimming with the pigs in the Bahamas is perhaps one of the coolest things you can do in the Caribbean. I recommend doing it with one person you love instead of six, but Ben has to do what Ben has to do. The girls had an amazing time, but as you can see, tensions are running high and everyone is at their wits end.

That night really took a lot out of Ben. But, in good news, he had the two-on-one date to look forward to the next day. On the one hand, it’s great to spend time with all of the women, but on the other hand, the high pressure of this week had really taken a toll on Ben’s mind and his heart. Leah tried to press Ben, as we saw, but Ben is having a hard enough time getting through all the information on his own without having new wrenches thrown into the plan. Leah went home unceremoniously and it became clearer than ever that Ben is not messing around.

There’s no need to go over what went on on that 2-on-1 date. We all saw it. But what I can say is even though Ben left her on an island, Olivia is alive and well and we look forward to having her on the Women Tell All in a few weeks to tell her side of the story. I know she has a lot to say, and she is going to have every opportunity to say it. That’s the great thing about the Women Tell All — you’ll get to hear Olivia’s point of view and get to know what was going through her head that day and since that day, as she’s watched the show back.

After the hardest week yet for Ben, he just couldn’t make the women sit through another cocktail party. At this point, every goodbye is nearly impossible; you just have to cut the cord. Lauren H. will also be at the Women Tell All and we’ll get to hear her side of that surprising exit. Now, with only 6 women left we are on our way to Indiana, and Ben will get to see his parents and fill them on in his story so far.

But before that, don’t miss The Bachelor at 20: A Celebration of Love special airing at 8 p.m. on Sunday, Valentine’s Day on ABC. It will be an amazing retrospective at 20 seasons of The Bachelor along with the biggest gathering of Bachelors and Bachelorettes in history.
