Christy's weather: snowfall in northern Yukon and N.W.T.

N.W.T. outlook

More snow will roll through the North of the N.W.T. today, with much cooler temperatures in the forecast.

After the record breaking mild weather yesterday, the Beaufort region will see temperatures falling back to the -20s today, which is seasonal for this time of year.

Further south, the mild weather will continue, with highs in the minus single digits in the Sahtu, Dehcho, and South Slave regions. Yellowknife will be slightly cooler near -12 C.

Around 2-4 cm of snow is expected in the Sahtu by this evening, while the south of the territory will remain clear.

Yukon outlook

Snowfall will also remain in the forecast for the North of the Yukon, with 2-4 cm in Old Crow by tonight.

Communities in the south will see clearing conditions today, with sunny skies lasting through tomorrow.

Temperatures will remain mild in the territory as well, with highs near the freezing mark in most communities, except Old Crow which will remain near -11 C.

Spring temperatures will linger in the territory through the weekend, with slightly cooler weather forecast for next week in the minus single digits.

Nunavut outlook

Cold and clear weather will remain for the Kitikmeot today with highs in the mid -30s and wind chills in the -50s.

Snowfall will move through the Kivalliq today, with a low pressure system to the west, but temperatures will remain near -30 C.

Baffin Island will see clear and cold weather today, but winds will be picking up in Iqaluit. Winds will gust up to 60 km/h this afternoon, easing this evening.
