Are chunks of concrete falling from the sky in downtown Toronto?

A small chunk of concrete fell from the sky around the intersection of Yonge and Bloor Streets, a woman reported on Twitter.

"Chunks of construction debris falling all over Bloor Street and the sidewalks on the north side," said Jennie Miller on Friday afternoon.

She said that she picked up from the sidewalk a small rock about two centimetres in diameter.

"I thought it was weird that people were freaking out and looking at the sky," she said. "And then, bam! One fell beside me. Scary!"

There are large construction projects around the intersection.

Miller said she quickly reported the falling rocks to workers nearby.
