City of Saskatoon experiences major power outage

The city of Saskatoon experienced a power outage on Saturday.

The city's Twitter account reported that at least 13 neighbourhoods were affected as of 5 p.m. CST.

Environment Canada issued a snowfall warning for parts of central Saskatchewan including Saskatoon earlier in the day.

The city used Twitter to keep people updated during this blackout, which also shut down the municipal website.

At around 6:45 p.m., the Twitter account reported that city crews had isolated two locations affected by icing and were beginning power restoration.
