Clarenville Caribous' big win lands them in Allan Cup final

The Clarenville Caribous have advanced to the Allan Cup finals.

Chris Hulit had two goals to lead the Caribous to a 5-1 victory yesterday over the Bentley Generals, at this year`s tournament in Dundas, Ontario.

Clarenville goalie Jason Churchill was a key part of the victory, making 34 saves and allowing only one goal.

Clarenville also got points from Cam Fergus, who registered a goal and an assist, and Dustin Russell and Dale Sullivan, who each scored a goal.

Clarenville will play the host team, the Dundas Real McCoys, in the championship. The game is slated for Saturday afternoon at 4:30 island time.

The Allan Cup is awarded to the top amateur men's ice hockey team in Canada each year.
