‘We have closed permanently.’ Bellingham shop is the latest to leave the downtown area
Another downtown Bellingham business has apparently closed its doors, according to the business’ Facebook page.
JoJo’s Doughnuts, a beloved bakery, now has a message written on its Facebook page intro stating: “We have closed permanently.”
The doughnut shop closed its doors temporarily in late May, due to a lack of staffing and the shop’s front door being shattered.
The last Facebook post from the business on July 6 assured loyal customers that the owner was looking for a new location for the shop.
“We are grateful for you who are still die hard and know we will return once the circumstances allow,” the Facebook post read.
The doughnut shop is now apparently closed for good, and the owner was unable to be reached for comment.
The shop’s website was also down and unable to reach as of Tuesday, Aug. 22. JoJo’s Doughnuts’ Instagram profile is still active, but does not have any additional information on the closing.
JoJo’s Doughnuts originally opened in December 2021, according to past reporting by The Bellingham Herald.
The closure follows the recent closing of Mo’s Parlor, which is leaving the downtown area due to harassment and protesting issues, according to its owner. The business will still sell its merchandise online.
