Welcome back, CM Punk.

TMZ is reporting that WWE legend CM Punk will make his return to the Octagon at UFC 225, which will take place on June 9 in Chicago. The news of Punk’s return is brand new, so we have no idea who his opponent will be as of yet. But Chicago is an important location for Punk — it’s his hometown, so this fight will carry even more significance than it already does.

UFC hasn’t confirmed CM Punk’s return yet, but Punk himself actually let the cat out of the bag. It wasn’t a traditional announcement, but how can it be when you’re responding to a troll on Twitter?

Now that’s how you shut down a troll.

The last time CM Punk was in the Octagon was also the first time. He made his MMA debut at UFC 203 18 months ago, and it did not go well. Facing Mickey Gall, Punk only made it two minutes and 14 seconds into the first round, losing by submission. After the match, he was very emotional, crying when the result was announced.

It’s not easy to watch. But he’s had time to train, and to think about that brutal loss. As the man said on Twitter, the next time he cries in the Octagon, it’ll be from happiness. When UFC 225 goes down in three months, we’ll find out for sure.
