GO trains detouring after CN freight train derails near Etobicoke North GO Station

A CN freight train derailed near the Etobicoke North GO Station on Thursday morning, forcing GO trains to detour around the station for cleanup, said Metrolinx spokesperson Anne Marie Aikins.

A tweet from Kitchener GO says that trains will be able to pass through the station again by 3 p.m.

CN spokesperson Jonathan Abecassis told CBC Toronto in an email that the cars that derailed were empty, and were being moved at a low speed on a side track.

"There are no injuries and our crews are on the scene," he added.
