Cochrane RCMP say they are seeking help from the public as they investigate a sex assault that took place in 1975 in the Bragg Creek area.

According to police, the assault occurred during the day in the spring or summer of that year, in the area of Burntall Drive.

A youth was approached by a stranger, police said, who was riding a dark-coloured motorcycle with knobby tires. He invited the youth to go for a short drive.

The man is described as being Caucasian, around 20 years of age with long brown curly hair. Police said he spoke English with no accent.

The man was not known to the victim, police said.

RCMP said they had limited information at this time and are seeking information from those who may have seen the incident or similar incidents take place.

Those with information are asked to call Cochrane RCMP at 403-851-8000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
