Cold front brings Fall-like temps to Florida. What about Miami and the Keys?
A cold front brought cooler Fall-like temperatures to Florida Wednesday morning, with many across the state waking up to temperatures in the 50s and 60s.
“Our first fall-like day of the season is here! While clouds stick around for much of the day, it’ll be noticeably cooler and mostly dry,” the National Weather Service in Melbourne wrote on Twitter.
The bad news? South Florida didn’t get the memo. It’s still hot and steamy in Miami-Dade, Broward and the Keys, with highs forecast to be in the upper 80s to around 90, according to the National Weather Service.
In Fort Myers, WINK News Meteorologist Matt Devitt posted a graphic on Twitter showing the divide between those who get to enjoy Fall and the rest of us stuck in an eternal heatwave.
“FLORIDA COLD FRONT! Most of the state participating in Fall this morning!” Devitt tweeted out early Wednesday. “We’ll see a small temp drop across Southwest Florida, but the coolest air remains north. Hey, it’s at least something!”
